Google Engage and what it means for Your Local Business
Adwords help via Google Engage
Google has introduced a program that targets helping LOCAL Businesses use the Internet in the most efficient and cost effective way for the best Return On Investment.
The Google Engage program offers search engine optimization professionals and SEO consultants like us, the training and tools to help your Local Business with being found online and with the effective use of Adwords - the sponsored listings on Google Search. Often referred to as PPC (Pay Per Click) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing).
By completing this training we have demonstrated to Google that we are knowledgeable about Google's system, Web properties and the best way an Adwords listing should be presented and constructed in order to achieve the Highest return on investment (ROI). That we can manage a multi client interface and how we report back to clients.
We are now seeing a Zero point buying decision scenario where a buyer is not impulsive but considers their purchase over a longer or shorter period of time. To help the searcher make their decision it is now necessary to be seen and found Online. This on a Regular Consistent basis as the consideration process is proven to include a search online for basic information, followed by a return to the search box with a more in depth search which is then usually followed by a purchase.
This visibility keeps your business high in the shoppers mind. So when a decision to buy is made your Local Business will be the supplier of choice. Even when seeing a Newspaper or flyer advertisement, even TV commercials, there usually follows an online search. This is where most buying decisions are converted to a sale. If you are not on Page1 of Google Search the chances of being part of that enquiry and sale are limited.
Search Engine Optimisation when carried out correctly will have your website shown on Page1 in the Free Organic listings shown by the search Engine. Google is targeted by us as they are the most used search engine with Billions of searches per day that allows Google to say that they have a 70% share of the search market.
All the sponsored listings shown at the point of search are context related. That means whatever the searcher is searching for, the sponsored Adwords listing are about that search. In turn that means when you are looking for customers that are searching for your product or service your Adwords listing will be on Page1 no matter the overall SEO condition of your website (not relying on organic positioning). So long as your website content is relevant to the wording of your Adwords listing you will have a higher quality score and therefore a lower cost per click.

Google's Financial Results
Google Financial results show a $10 Billion revenue mostly from Adwords. This is not about how much they made but how much they made for their customers. It does indicate that Adwords is working and Business owners, such as yourself, find it an effective media to find customers and make a profit. They would not spend on something that doesn't work. (Oops, some people are still spending many thousands per month on YP that is proven to not be working, most peculiar!)
